hav-o cocktail oprah ultimate australian adventure recipeYou know, I bet you’re wondering: what was Oprah Winfrey’s first real taste of Australia? Well, I can tell you. When the ‘Queen of the Small Screen’ herself began her Ultimate Australia Adventure on the iconic Whitsunday’s Whitehaven Beach, I figured the first thing Oprah and all her guests needed was a great cocktail. I decided to whip them up a HAV-O — made from delicious fresh Aussie ingredients, and having named it after the Whitehaven Beach, I thought it made the perfect welcome drink (besides, we all know that everything good in Australia has an ‘O’ thrown on the end)

Ingredients:

90ml / 3 oz Freshly juiced Pineapple Juice (The King of Fruit)
15ml / ½ oz Syrup from Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup
45ml / 1 ½ oz Sagatiba Pura Cachaça
Ice
Garnish with one syrup poached wild hibiscus flower from the jar

Directions:

Firstly juice half a pineapple which should give enough juice for at least four
drinks. I used a new juicer blender appliance from breville because I travel so
much and this lets me compact my equipment in one kit. Then add all
ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake well before pouring over ice into a
tall highball glass. Garnish and serve with a straw.
